The nineties are an an era of independence, confidence and growth for woman! Career life is booming and independence is the new wave. The professional life is everything, so much so that society's view on us has shifted from homemaker to career builders. The stigmas have lessened and we are making a FRESH name for ourselves surrounding our role in society. Many are beginning to wonder if family and marriage fits into the equation still. As a whole woman are dominating; in the fashion and music industry, in the classroom academically and financially in their profession.
Kate Moss is a prime example of females dominating their professional field. Kare Moss is famously know for developing her own clothing line. Her clothes were of such intrinsic value that she gained notoriety through Johnny Depp. Her work commonly characterized as being "rebellious" and "youthful" Moss didn't make her mark alone though, much of her success was due to her photographer, Corinne Day.

Corinne Day photographed for Kate Moss. This ultimately launched her modeling career and paved the way for her down the road. Her photos helped to capture the attention of British fashion icons for her colleague Kate Moss. Her photography was said to often contain "raw, humor and at times, pain".

Woman are also dominating the music industry and girl groups are exploding. Through their lyrics in song, they are empowering the community of like minded people to be the strong and independent woman they are capable of being. Their songs challenged the social construct of what it meant to be a woman and what society deemed as "appropriate behavior" for a woman.
Salt N’ Pepa- "Ain’t Nuthin But A She Thing" (1991) Their single promoted equality for woman across the board. They fight for equality and equal pay in the work place. They make the discrimination obvious and point out the continual mistreatment of woman. In addition to their feminist fight, they encourage safe sex for both genders. Spice Girls- "Wannabe"(1996) Spice Girls released their hit "Wannabe" in 1996. Heather Rudulph reported it as being a "Feminist Anthem". The song is based on strong feminist values and building strong friendships amongst women. Their stage presence dominated and further portrayed the ideas of being strong and bold woman of the 90's. They were an unapologetic group of girls that were confident in their message and unbothered by the opinions of the media.

In 1996-97 a group of woman led protest in the Art-Social Building. Feminist Activist of Maryland fight for equality for woman. They were seeking equal pay and non-discriminatory policies in the work place.
